Hello all, just a note that I'm clearing out the glaze limbo shelves today. There's pieces from August/September that will be removed at the end of the day.
For those unaware- the studio staff will reject glazed work from firings if they are a danger to our kiln shelves. That might mean globs of glaze remaining on the bottom of the piece, or too little clearance between the glazed wall of the piece and shelf, which would cause the piece to melt onto the kiln shelf, ruining your piece and our kiln shelf! I'm seeing some dodgy glazed footrings as well.
If you're not sure why your piece was rejected, ask a staff member or your teacher- your piece likely just needs some attention with a sponge and can be placed back on the cart to be fired.
Thanks!
Ariane
